TROPHY AWARDED:

A trophy will be awarded at the conclusion of the AUGUST 2008 "ABGA NORTH EAST ARKANSAS SHOWDOWN".  To be eligible exhibitors must participate in all SIX OPEN shows.  The trophy will be awarded to the FULL BLOOD BUCK AND FULL BLOOD DOE  with the most accumulated points from the six shows.

PEN FEES

IF WE CLEAN PEN AT CONCLUSION OF SHOW THERE WILL BE A $5.00 PEN FEE. IF YOU CLEAN YOUR OWN PENS AT CONCLUSION OF SHOW THERE IS NO PEN FEE.

THOSE PAYING FOR PEN FEES WILL HAVE A TAG PLACED ON THEIR PEN.

OPEN SHOW RULES

All shows will begin with a Youth Market Show at 10:00 a.m. with the ABGA Open Show beginning at 1:00 p.m. The Sunday  Open Show will begin at 9:00 a.m.

The ABGA sanctions this show and its rules shall govern.  All registered animals welcomed, regardless of registering organization.  Points will be awarded in Official Divisions as outlined by the ABGA Show Rules.   (see ABGA web site for rules)

Early Entry Deadline: AUGUST 9, 2008, $15.00 per entry.  Late Entry Deadline: AUGUST 20, 2008, $20.00 per entry.   SUBSTITUTIONS may be made by AUGUST 21, 2008 with no fee.  ALL OTHER Substitutions after the deadline will be charged a fee of $5.00/each. Substitutions at the show will be $10.00 each.

Animals showing in the Open Division on AUGUST 23, 2008 must be in place by Noon.  

Animals showing in the Open Division AUGUST 24, 2008 must be in place by 8:00 a.m.  Animals not showing both days may leave the grounds at completion of their show.

Base date for computing animal's age is AUGUST 23, 2008.  Animals showing in the AUGUST 24, 2008

show may be required to move up to the next class depending on the animals date of birth.

A registration certificate is required for all animals.  Tattoo's must be legible and match the registration papers.

All goats must have a current health certificate as required by the state of Arkansas.  It is the owner's responsibility

to conform to all interstate transport laws, in compliance with current USDA animal movement restrictions. Registration certificates and current health papers must be presented to show secretary prior to show. Arkansas State Veterinarian will inspect all animals and will bar from the grounds any animal that is obviously sick, diseased, or parasite infected. Animals not being shown are prohibited, unless a kid is nursing. Then the kid and doe must have current health papers.

 

No artificial coloring allowed.

No dogs allowed at the show. 

Bedding will be available for purchase at the show.

(1st, 2nd, 3rd place premium paid in each weight division if 60 or more market goats entered.)

Premium will be paid based on the number of entries

Animals showing in the Youth Market Show on AUGUST 23RD must be in place by 8:00 a.m. 

Weigh in begins at 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

No reweighs.

BABY TEETH:   The July 26th and August 23rd show will require market animals to have their baby teeth.  Teeth will be inspected at weigh in.

Youth Market Show begins at 10:00 a.m.

Any breed of goat may be shown

No limit to the number of animals that may be entered by each exhibitor.

 

All males must be wethered.

 

Does are accepted. IF SHOWING THE DOE IN THE OPEN SHOW REMEMBER THE RULE OF HAIR CONDITION FOR BEING JUDGED IN AN OPEN SHOW IF THE ANIMALS ARE SHEARED SHORT.

 

All males and unregistered females participating in the market division must have a scrapies ear tag from their herd of origin or an identifying tattoo.

 

Classes will be divided by weight and the total number of classes will be based on the number of animals entered.

 

Out of state entries must provide health certificates dated within 30 days of the show and each animal must be listed.

 

An exhibitor shall not present an animal to be shown under a judge from whom it was purchased or possession was taken within 60 days of the show.

 

Animals showing a pronounced defect or abnormality will be barred from the show.

 

No one exhibitor may take Grand and Reserve awards.  If the same exhibitor is chosen for Grand and Reserve, a new Reserve will be chosen for the Reserve Award.

 

Youth shall be considered up to age 18. An exhibitor who has reached the age of 18 and has graduated from High School, will be permitted to show through the fall of the year of graduation.

 

            YOUTH SHOWMANSHIP

 

Showmanship will be divided into

 four age groups. $5.00 Entry fee paid at the gate.

                                           PEE WEE                           8 AND UNDER

                                           INTERMEDIATE               9-12

                                           JUNIOR                             13-15

                                           SENIOR                             16 AND UP

 

SHOWMANSHIP AWARDS WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT SHOW

 

The Greene County Fair Association and the sponsors of any of the ABGA Sanctioned Boer Goat Shows

will not be responsible for any liability from loss, damage or injury of person, or livestock, or other property. The

sponsors of the show reserve the right to set reasonable standards for conduct by the exhibitors of the Arkansas

Spring Fling sanctioned Boer goat show.
